Written By Vikas Singh 28-06-2023

Shark Tank India has just been in country where the very first season arrived in Dec 2021 and soon witnessed massive success. People or rather say viewers have supported and got inspired from aspiring entrepreneurs making their pitch in this business entertainment show. The show was once again renewed for another season which arrived earlier this year in Jan 2023.

It is within these two seasons viewers have witnessed some of the best entrepreneur minds with brilliant business ideas, products and as well as services.

Well, if there is good then there are also some bad ones that we have come across throughout these two seasons. Talking about the second season then there were some business pitches that really disappointed the judges and as well as the viewers. Let us see the top 5 worst pitches that were made on Shark Tank India season 2.

5 Worst Pitches From Shark Tank India Season 2

Bottom Line Spray

Bottom Line Spray was responsible for pitching their business idea of making portable jet sprays. The primary intention of the company to roll out such a product seemed to be wacky because it was manufactured for Indians primarily.

Indians are attached to using water instead of tissue paper whenever they are for a trip abroad or somewhere people are not used to using water after they are done using the toilet. Indians, therefore feel disgusted using toilet papers instead of using water which was the reason for the birth of Bottom Line Spray Startup.

The company founders, Aadil Attarwala and Prathana Shah asked for INR 35 lakhs in exchange for 5% equity of their company. Their proposal was rejected since most of the male investors ended up saying that they could use water bottles instead of their portable jet sprays. The company had made a sale of 7,000 units so far and their revenues were declining. This did not create much impact on the judges and therefore the founders had to leave empty-handed.

Sayonara

One of the most wackiest pitches in Shark Tank India season 2 was Sayonara. The pitch was not even broadcasted for more than 5 minutes since every judge thought that it was an unnecessary product idea.

The ask made by the founder, Shahil Shah was INR 1 crore in exchange for 10% of his equity. Shahil had designed a type of petticoat that had many designs and he claims that it was patented as well. He also claimed that his products facilitate women while going to the washrooms.

It was obvious that the product would not get much attention from the judges because there was nothing new to offer. Shark Tank judges were immensely embarrassed with such an idea and if Ashneer Grover would been there in the second season then he would have definitely made some abusive remarks about the business idea of Sayonara.

Fat To Slim

The ask for this business startup was INR 20 lakhs in exchange for 1% equity for the diet plan business that was being presented to the judges. Founder, Shikha Agarwal claimed at the start of her pitch that one would not require exercise to lose weight.

This was some kind of  USP that she was trying to reveal to the judges. However, she revealed some of her clients’ experience as well so that it would give some backup to her claims but in the end it did not go how she expected it to go.

It was judge Namita Thapar who stopped Shikha saying that the biggest problem during weight loss is that even if you have the best diet you would still face problems in maintaining your weight. Anupam Mittal who is also a health freak said that it was not a scientifically proven method which did not have solid proof that it was worth investing.

Mood Lifting Incense Sticks

One of the business ideas that left the judges feeling embarrassed and laughing at the same time. This business idea was all about mood lifting incense sticks that will be responsible for lifting moods. We all have heard of normal or regular incense sticks that are used during pujas but it was quite bizarre about how mood lifting incense sticks were introduced and presented to the judges.

Amit Hoatchandani was presented with these sticks and claimed that these incense sticks could heighten one’s desires instantly. This business idea from the founder had left the judges into laughter while some of them even pulled his leg for such an idea.

Oye Happy

Oye Happy business idea was all about romantic and naughty board games products that came with truth and dare, dirty challenges and more such kinds of things to keep you up all night. As embarrassing as it sounds , it was really awkward for the judges to sit tight and listen to the pitch.

The ask for the business product was INR 50 lakhs in exchange for 1% equity. Founders Harsh Khemani and Varun Thodi made a sale of INR 10.5 crores but ultimately all the sharks had stepped out of the deal and therefore no final deal was made.
