Joseph Rajesh is the founder of Tea Boy and his journey in the Tea Boy business has been full of ups and downs just like most other businesses and startup companies. Joseph had to quit his regular job at the State Bank of India and came back to Chennai to start his own business. His journey so far has been motivational and inspiring for the youngsters as they are able to understand the hardships and struggles that he had to face during the initial stages after the formation of the company.

Financial struggles are the most crucial yet destructive challenge that Tea Boy had to face during its initial stages and it was also difficult for Joseph to manage such a financial crisis.

Joseph Rajesh belongs to a small village in Karur in the state of Tamil Nadu and it was his dream to become a successful businessman in India. Joseph Rajesh who was struggling with his tea business at the initial stages has now become a successful entrepreneur and has joined the league of several educated youngsters those who have launched their own tea chains in the country.

Joseph had started his tea business with an area of less than 100 sq ft back in the year 2017. Now, he owns around 78 Tea Boy outlets in Tamil Nadu. The chain he is building has so far been successful and every day the outlets receive a pretty decent number of customers. It was in the financial year 2020-21 he opened 60 outlets in the same year and the turnover for that year was INR 7 crore and is looking to increase it by more than INR 3 crores by 2022-2023. 

He has also opened up a subsidiary company named, Black Pekoe which is yet another successful tea business which has started offering franchise as well. Joseph charges around INR 6-7 lacs for a Black Pekoe franchise. The Tea Boy franchises are small where only two or three types of tea are served. 

How did Tea Boy start?

Tea Boy started back in the year 2017 when Joseph decided to quit his job and come back to Chennai to open up his own business. Just like a regular tea shop, Tea Boy had started and the earning per month was quite less. There were a lot of ups and downs for the company which had to struggle financially and had to face a lot of challenges. Joseph had in his mind that one day his mission to sell more than one crore cups of tea would be successful and he worked on it regularly to gain market attention. 

Today, he has got more than 78 outlets only in the state of Tamil Nadu and may wish to increase/expand to other states as well in the near future. With a minimum investment, the company started to get the recognition it wanted which became the true reason for its success.
